Burning Desire

Here are the six steps necessary to create what he calls the burning desire required to drive a man to the achievement of their targets. In this example the measures relate to cash but with innovative editing this formulation can be applied to any area of goal attainment.

First. Fix in your mind the precise amount of money you would like. It’s not enough merely to say, “I want tons of money.” Be definite as to the amount.

Second. Determine exactly what you intend to give in return for the money you would like. Because there is no such reality as “something for nothing.

Third. Establish a definite date when you intend to get the money you would like.

Fourth. Create a definite plan for carrying out your desire, and begin at once, whether you’re ready or not to put this strategy into action.

Fifth. Write out a clear, concise statement of the amount of money you would like to acquire, name the time limit for its acquisition, state what you intend to give in return for the money, and explain clearly the strategy by which you intend to collect it.

Sixth. Read your written statement aloud, twice daily, once just before retiring at night, and once after arising in the morning.
