      • Wash your face with a water-soluble cleanser (preferably in gel form) that is gentle enough to use twice per day and rinses easily.  A gel-based cleaner that’s dye- and fragrance-free.
      • Toning skin is not a step to be skipped, especially for people who have oily skin. Toning skin can help to minimize oversized pores while also providing the skin with healing anti-irritants. The toner you selected should be free of alcohol, witch hazel, menthol, eucalyptus, and other irritants. I would recommend a light-weight, liquid cleansing toner designed to restrain excessive oil production.
      • Exfoliating skin eliminates the dead, thickened skin cells which lay atop skin and if you’ve read my other posts, you know I’m a big fan of both BHAs and AHAs (alpha hydroxy acids). Both exfoliants permit the cells to operate like healthy skin tissues should while also improving collagen production. However, for those who have oily skin, using a well-formulated BHA helps control how in which the oil flows through the pore into the skin’s surface. Look for a BHA in a liquid or gel form and then apply once every-other-day until your skin becomes familiar with this item. After, use exfoliant once per day or every-other-day. Remember: Do not use exfoliants into the upper eyelid or beneath the eye area.
      • Protect. Sun protection is extremely important for all skin types but for people who have oily skin, finding an appropriate sun care product can be a really tricky step. One main rule for those who have oily skin is to steer clear of creams, thick creams, or some other product with pore clogging ingredients, thus making the use of sunscreen hard. However, there are alternatives.
      • Hydrate. When it comes to night time hydration, which may or might not be needed, start looking for extra-light alternatives. Moisturizers in liquid form are excellent at supplying antioxidants, nutrients, and organic hydration with no heaviness. Likewise, light-weight gel or ointment moisturizers are also great alternatives.

Remember: Products containing irritating ingredients cause irritation on the surface and underneath the skin boosting the pores to produce more oil, so it is vital that you avoid them. Should oily skin turned into an issue during the day, use oil-blotting newspapers to help absorb excess oil and control shine.
