        • Cystic fibrosis
        • Pulmonary edema

Treatments vary in accordance with the seriousness of the patients disease but in this article I am only going to address the non-life threatening [but still serious] chest congestion [the more serious chest problems need medical treatment as soon as possible]

Hausmittel

Using a nebulizer [machine that warms a decongestant oil] will help alleviate the congestion and ease any chest discomfort as it helps clear the airways of the individual by loosening the phlegm that’s then easier to cough up.

Topical application

Applying aromatherapy oils into the torso [eucalyptus, Clary sage, pine or rosemary for example] may also help out with the ease of a congested chest.

Dampf

This is also a terrific way to loosen any phlegm, boil a liter of water, then pour into a bowl, then add karvol [or any other decongestant med], get the patient to lean over the steam and cover their heads with a towel to keep the steam concentrated around the sufferers face while they inhale as deeply as you can.

Breathing exercises

There are yoga exercises out there that help strengthen the lungs and enhance its capacity. Find a workout to fit your requirements and try do this every day.

Diät

Ensure the patient eats a diet that’s rich in all of the nutrients [especially vitamin C and E] the body needs, this can aid the immune system while it struggles to clear the blocked airways. Citrus fruits such as oranges, lemons etc are full of vitamin C and also this vitamin is quite important in boosting the immune system currently.

Get the individual to consume as much herbal tea as possible [at least 3x a day] as these contain many essential nutrients and may also help out with creating the immune system stronger.

Whatever the results of the home remedies you have tried, always get some medical advice and medication from your physician, this is a significant problem and can be an indication of a more serious medical condition.
