It’s extremely unfortunate that we are living in a time where man has polluted the ground enough that despite all our efforts to be healthy, we’re in a place now where we will need to take responsibility for ourselves, family and friends. Agriculture and manufacturing companies aren’t likely to stop using pesticides and preservatives so it’s your responsibility to take control of your health!

What to avoid during a diet plan:

All types of sugar! No brown sugar, corn syrup, sucrose, dextrose etc.. This also includes artificial sweeteners. If you have to have something to satisfy your sweet tooth, there’s an herb that you can safely use with no harmful effects which is Stevia. It comes in powdered form or as an infusion. Any health food store should carry it. Note: Stevia is very sweet so a very little goes a long way.

Wheat and Gluten products

Including all breads and pastas made from wheat. You would be amazed at the number of products have wheat as an ingredient so read labels.

All dairy products and meat

Dairy can be quite tough to digest thus avoid products which are are made from milk, butter, cheese, cream etc.. Animal proteins and dairy can take 8 to 10 hours to digest. They also produce waste products that will need to be filtered by your kidneys. When you’re detoxing, your body needs energy to heal itself so that you do not need to waste that energy .

Stimulants like caffeine and alcohol

Café, tea, and sodas aren’t likely to help you detox. On the other hand, decaf or herbal teas can be quite beneficial while detoxing. They hydrate you and contain the anti-oxidants can help you nourish and detox the body. Alcohol dehydrates you and that’s the opposite of what you’re trying to accomplish. During a detox (or at anytime for that matter) you want an awful lot of water and nourishing liquids to help feed and flush toxins out.

High fat meals

This means while you’re detoxing, avoid fast food restaurants. The fat content in foods makes us feel quite pleased but it won’t help you detox.

All processed foods

Nature never meant our meals to be tampered with. Man has reinvented food with chemicals, additives and pesticides. I advise you to pay no attention to the glittery advertisements and advertisements. You may also say smoking is good for you!

So, what now?

Well, have I wiped out your daily diet? No surprise here! We’ve been trained to walk the aisles of the grocery store and throw the boxed foods into our carts. It’s no surprise that Americans are getting larger and the food and pharmaceutical industry’s pockets are growing in leaps and bounds.

The daily onslaught to our own bodies wears us down, make us weaker and it gets more challenging to heal. We also know our increasing girth! It needs a rest and great cleansing to get us back up to speed. Here’s What you can do to accomplish this:

      • Set aside 5 to 10 days to for this particular program. (Longer to achieve weight loss).
      • Drink at least 2 quarts of water through the day! Water is the best way to flush toxins from the body. You will need to include natural sea salt, NOT table salt, to your own water. Unprocessed sea salt has between 70 to 92 trace minerals and has a grayish look to it. Table salt has had all of the minerals removed. Remember, your body is 75 to 80% water, and if you’ve ever tasted a tear, you know your body is an internal sea, so natural sea salt is as important as drinking the water.
      • Eat fresh fruits of all types. The more variety the better. They are quite nutritious, loaded with vitamins and minerals, fiber, and contrary to popular belief, all fruits have small amounts of protein. Eating fruit is the fastest way to put energy in your body. Fruit can be digested in as little as 30 minutes. Compare this to milk and meat at 8 to 10 hours it is possible to see that eating fruit is a better way to get energy. The fiber has a much better cleansing effect than eating grains. One 1/2 cup of raspberries has more fiber than ingesting 10 bran muffins and has a lot less carbohydrates. Fruit juice is acceptable so long as it’s 100% juice rather than the sugary kind. Try to eat 5 to 7 distinct sorts of fruit every day.
      • Vegetables, especially leafy green vegetables are a excellent source vitamins and minerals. They’re considered good carbohydrates and you may have a great deal of salad without worrying about your waist . Be cautious about store bought dressing. You can undo all of your hard work to detox and lose weight with these dressings. Your very best option is to use extra virgin olive oil, lemon juice and natural seasoning. Look for red, green and orange veggies, the brighter the colour of your veggies, the better. Raw is best but steaming your vegetables is a fantastic way to keep nutrient value.

From the moment you wake up till you go to bed, your body is spending a great deal of time consuming food. During the hour when you’re sleeping, your body goes into detoxing and recovery mode. Have you ever noticed that if you’re ill you don’t wish to eat anything? This is because the body recognizes that it has to go into recovery mode and doesn’t need to waste energy and time digesting heavy foods. You still need energy so water and fruit/vegetable juices (diluted and in moderation) can be consumed.

For detoxing and weight reduction purposes, drinking water and sea salt, and consuming fruits and vegetables can cause the body to begin burning stored fat. Unfortunately, the fat is where toxins are stored and as the fat gets burned off, (and any additional belly fat you may wish to eliminate ) you might feel awful, cranky or even sick for a couple of days while the body is eliminating it. If you’ve got the will power to persist through that then you need to experience a renewed sense of well being and weight loss.
