        • First indicate where you want your new landscape garden bed to be, and mark the lines of this bed using a spray paint, chalk, an old hose, stakes, or series. Whatever you have will work. Garden beds with waving lines generally seem more interesting than garden beds with straight lines, but the layout is totally your decision. Remember, this method works on existing weeds or weeds, so indicate where ever you desire!
        • Second, lay down your own paper. If you are using a thick material like cardboard, then you need your cardboard to be one layer thick. For thinner paper goods, you’ll need to layer them thicker. Wet your material with a hose to keep it from blowing away, and soften it so it can adhere to the floor and start composting while the paper smothers the weeds and grass. Aim for about a centimeter of paper stuff thick (if you are not using cardboard) or more after you have wet it down.
        • Third, install your preferred landscape edging if you are using one. Be certain that the edging is along with your paper material. Cut any material that pokes from the edging border.
        • Fourth, put in your soil on top of the paper. You may use ready compost or garden soil available in bags bought from a garden centre. You’ll have to fill your garden bed to approximately 4 inches or more along with your paper. Once you’ve added your dirt, wet it well.
        • Next, coating more paper merchandise over the surface of the garden, not as thick as the bottom. Wet it well so that it remains down on the ground and does not blow away.
        • And now you can plant! With a sharp knife, cut holes in the paper in addition to the plant and soil in the holes. Plants which will do very nicely immediately in a rich soil such as this are numerous. For fast colour and ease of maintenance, consider planting a mixture of beautiful daylilies to keep it simple. You really aren’t confined to what to plant on your idle garden. Why don’t you try perennial plants, ornamental grasses, strawberry plants, perennial vegetables or herbs.
        • Finally, water your new plants, and mulch the surface of the paper. Keep the garden area well watered to promote the breakdown of this paper. Each year later, simply refresh your mulch to keep the plants healthy and the weeds from sprouting.
