With so many fad diets moving – me, a hungry customer (pun intended) – is left frustrated and confused. Us fat individuals are intended to be jolly you understand, and it’s precisely us that have to shed weight – it goes against the fundamentals! One diet vouches for 30 pounds in 30 days with a few water based diet while the other cuts off every fantastic thing and vouches for 50 pound loss. But what’s the point? Depriving myself so will only pave way for my moving back to all of the favorite foods with a vengeance and get me back just to square one. . Oh well except a lighter pocket may be not so much the lighter me.
To eat or not to eat?
Instead, I think we should be able to enjoy the excellent foods sensibly. That way I will not feel deprived and end up attacking the French fries like I haven’t eaten for 3 weeks like a hungry caveman (or girl!). Few minuscule changes here and there and voila – welcome to the utopia – guilt free, great eats. The key trick – deceive your mind into thinking that you ate all those calorie rich and delectable meals while in fact you have not. What exactly are the cheat codes that have worked for me?
Cut out oil in the skillet
Did you know that if you will need to saute onions in a skillet, you truly don’t require oil to achieve that? Heat the skillet, when hot, add the onions and small bit of salt and give it a quick stir. The salt will bring the moisture from the onions and will also help it to cook. You can add remainder of the veggies to this mixture and continue cooking like nothing happened! You simply cut out 1 tablespoon of oil (or more) that amounts to about 120 calories in 1 go. There’s absolutely not any reduction as such to the fantastic taste.
Say NO to yellow (no, I’m not speaking about lemons)
Any recipe that calls for eggs, you could benefit from a small deviation from the recipe. Instead of a whole egg, simply add the egg whites. Have you tried making omelets with only egg whites? Or how about your favourite buttermilk pancakes? Or perhaps the all time favorite, good traditional corn muffins? There isn’t any reducing the taste and at the exact same time you get to enjoy your favorite, daily foods without all that fat and cholesterol from egg yolks.
Include Plenty of fiber and protein in your diet
Not only is it healthy, but additionally, it will fill you up quicker – so naturally, you’d wind up eating less. Lean meats, legumes, lentils, yogurt are several fill-me-up-fast foods. A simple baked Falafel hamburger for lunch isn’t only delicious but also tremendously healthy. You won’t miss your hamburger.
DON’T eat healthy – only throw in healthful
Why do New-Year resolutions not work for me? I set such a lofty goal, I know I am never going to achieve it ! So in exactly the same vein, do not go all out and decide on eating all wholesome things your mind revolts against, and finally breaks you. Instead, when you end up reaching out to the buttery dinner rolls next time, why not reach out to these Quinoa dinner rolls? They taste quite buttery though they don’t have any butter! Or go for all these mixed bean and quinoa croquettes together with your salad.
No need to give up that dessert
Now I would anticipate the obvious question – what about dessert? Do we cut that out? Not in a million years- I can not think of foregoing my desserts. So how are we cutting calories out then? Aardbei and lavender sorbet and Oranje givrees make excellent desserts and they have the nutrition from fruits. Baked ricotta berry cakes are my personal favorite -” healthful and lip-smacking good.
These are just few methods of making minor changes without needing to cut anything down. It’s not about depriving fries and ice creams – it is about making these minor changes in day to day eating habits so that eating our favorite foods sometimes do not make us feel guilty or leave us wanting.
