What if you can identify your life purpose? Then, you can achieve all your goals and dreams? Goals are there to identify the actions you take to fulfill your purpose, to reach your objective. Purpose is the driving force behind you placing the goals you wish to reach.
What are Goals?
Goals are only a reflection of your overall purpose. But, as Dan Miller says in his book, 48 Days to the Work You Love,”A goal is a dream with a time period of action attached.”
Perhaps some of you read this article because you’re you feeling confused, depressed, even despairing about your leadership. And, others may be brimming with excitement yet searching for a system to document and live out positive changes you want to make. However, some may be interested as to how knowing your life purpose could make any difference?
What is Life Purpose?
What you will need to understand is your life purpose is all about knowing who you are and what energizes you. Also, it’s about realizing your natural abilities in addition to the contribution that’s made to the entire world when you’re utilizing your gifts. Your purpose offers you a new frame of value that starts to form every action, decision, decision and moment of your life. Especially when the stream of situations attempt to throw you off course. So, whether you’re having a crisis, elation moment, or you’re facing a transformational opportunity, it’s necessary to stop and self represent to be able to identify your goal. ALL goal setting revolves around your core goal.
To identify this purpose, it is important to research four main questions (about what energize you):
1. What are your ASSETS/STRENGTHS?
2. What are your EXCITEMENTS and ENTHUSIASMS?
3. What do you Need to BE STIMULATED?
4. What’s Your PRIMARY LIFE ASSIGNMENT?
For each new opportunity that comes along, I ask myself how it contrasts with my objective. Regardless of how much money I could get, if the action doesn’t align with my principal life assignment, that’s the heart of my personal mission statement, then I don’t pursue it. Here is my principal life mission: “To excite, orchestrate, and execute initiatives that transform individuals, communities and organizations whilst in the method brings intrinsic value financially and personally”.
How can you find it?
How can you find your real purpose in life? I’m not talking about your work, your daily responsibilities, or even your long-term targets. I mean the actual reason you’re here – the very reason you exist.
It’s important to identifie your fundamental strengths and fundamental passions. The assumption is that if your whole life is inundated in action that revolves around living out your strengths and passions, you may finally be directed in the direction that’s God directed, offers participation, and generates personal happiness and plenty of energy. The term of our strengths and fires contributes to a cause greater than ourselves.
And yes, sometimes it takes a significant catastrophe to wake up and realize the value of doing the internal work of accomplishing your true intent. The great news is you do not need to stumble along with a’trial and error’ approach which may take decades. You can begin today. Let’s do that now.
A little bit of Help
We’ll be utilizing an exercise which can enable you to define your life purpose. It’s important to consider your purposeful life mission from the perspective of using it in every area of your life. Areas of your life where you’re not engaged in your daily life assignment, you will most likely see that you feel lethargic once you perform those tasks. Additionally, it’s normal to want to constantly procrastinate those tasks we do not appreciate.
Every company always seeks to keep a list of its assets. Individuals often maintain a financial asset stock that’s beneficial in predicting retirement needs and also as present and future budgeting. A personal asset, stimulation and enthusiasm inventory serves the goal of providing awareness in respect to what will fuel your growth in every area of your life: spiritual, personal, psychological, career, interaction with other people, fun, greater prosperity, and cleaning up messes and stuff.
1. What gives you energy? (Activities, people, events, hobbies, projects, etc.)
2. What are the things which you would like to spend hours doing?
3. What actions make you lose track of time?
4. If you had to teach something, what would you teach? How would you record and clarify your main message to other people? What do you want them to learn in a life?
Start out by creating a list of your principal assets and then produce a list of what excites and inspires you. The particular example below should help you in your brainstorming procedure. Then, you’ll be supplied with a list of words whereby you’ll circle five in each class. You will circle five at the Primary Assets region and five in the Primary Excitements area. Don’t forget to keep it simple. Goal setting is concentrated, simple, and specific to what you want to accomplish in your life.
Here’s what to do:
1. Take out a blank sheet of paper or open up a word processor where you can sort.
2. Write at the top,”What’s my purpose in life?”
3. Brainstorm answers that emerge
So, let’s start with a quick brainstorming session and record the resources and excitements that immediately come to your mind. Then, make a list of those things that you don’t enjoy and you aren’t proficient in doing such things (ineffective proficiencies). Don’t do plenty of thinking; but instead, just let the ideas flow and record them as they surface.
Assets and Excitements
• Assets, include the set of abilities and skills at which a man is very, very good. Everyone has many nuances, but just a few unique strengths. Someone who uses their strengths is innovative, energetic, and extremely productive. Excellent work is the product of a person’s strengths.
• Enthusiasms, include those actions that people absolutely love to do. They gravitate toward those activities whenever possible, frequently making time for them over other duties. One’s passions are the actions which bring energy.
• Ineffective Proficiency, are the abilities in the opposite end of the spectrum from unique strengths. Ineffective proficiencies, frequently called flaws, are those actions by which a individual struggles. If required to use a lesser competency, a individual lacks enthusiasm and energy, becomes easily frustrated and distracted, and generally produces below average quality and productivity.
Specific examples of “Asset Words” are as follows (identify three (3) that represent you): accomplish, achieve, administer, evaluate, clarify, communicate, counsel, produce, develop, discover, design, educate, evaluate, express, invent, develop, identify, inspire, lead, manage, measure, mould, nurture, orchestrate, arrange, preach, prepare, process, promote, radiate, represent, stimulate, strengthen, manage, educate, understand, unify, and worth.
Specific examples of “Enthusiasms” are as follows (identify three (3) that represent you): balance, comfort, compassion, creativity, dignity, faith, generosity, honesty, hospitality, humor, joy, kindness, mercy, orchestration, peace, support, transformation, unity, health, and wisdom.
Now pick one top main asset word from the three you picked and one main enthusiasm word from the three you picked. Each one of those words equates to your main assignment. To put it differently, ASSET WORD + ENTHUSIASM WORD = PRIMARY (or DIVINE) ASSIGNMENT!
Now you’ve identified your purpose, ensure that all your actions align with that objective. You’ll feel energized and intrinsically rewarded.
