In that the past few decades, the medical industry has turned over a new leaf. Given a choice, people are gearing more towards alternative medicine over allopathic drugs and invasive procedures. Who would not if you’re being guaranteed good health minus all of the unpleasant side effects?

The New Medication for Pain

One such method that has grabbed attention is the cupping treatment. Although still new, this recovery technique is very ancient and has been practiced for decades in China, Egypt, Middle East and Eastern European cultures.

What is the cupping treatment?

A trained therapist applies heated cups into certain areas of your body, generally muscular areas such as the back, stomach, arms and legs. The cups could be of glass, plastic or silicone. There are various ways the cupping therapy is finished.

Dry cupping

The first is that the”dry cupping” or the”fire cupping” method. A cotton ball is soaked in an inflammable material such as rubbing alcohol. The cotton ball is set on fire and used to warm the cups. Alternately, the cups are heated in hot water or oil.

Once the cup is well-heated, it’s immediately placed on the patient’s skin. As the skin rises, it seals off the cup completely. The heat produces a vacuum causing the muscles and skin to form a little puff. The cup is permitted to sit in this place for a few minutes until it’s safely removed.

In that the”moving cupping” method, the cups aren’t held in one position, but are transferred smoothly over different places. The therapist applies oil or cream to the skin until the cups are implemented. The reddened areas are the result of the suction and growth of the blood vessels.

Wet cupping

The second technique is the wet cupping procedure. After applying and removing the cups, the cupping therapist makes small incisions into the skin. The suction is repeated to draw out small amounts of blood. The third way is the combination of cupping with acupuncture. This one is the most effective of the three. It involves inserting needles until the cup is put onto the skin.
